Helping People Rise Above
Trauma and Mental Illness
About Me
Before I was a psychologist, I was a mountain guide and today I enjoy helping guide people through their own dark forests, encouraging them when things seem insurmountable, reaching peaks they have dreamed about, and finding their own paths forward in their lives. I have been providing therapy for adults, children and families for twenty years. I have been using EMDR in therapy since 1998 and conducted research in EMDR for my masters thesis. My dissertation was in cognitive psychology at Idaho State University. In high school, I was in the fortunate category of knowing I wanted to be a psychologist when I grew up. I was interested in the mind, dreams, personality, and helping others. I was a good listener and was a peer counselor. I was blessed to continue my education and become a psychologist. I enjoy golfing, hiking, backpacking. and flying.
